Our Story

At the SpoK-9 Valley Pet Center, our mission is to provide the Spokane area with a structured and safe environment that owners will trust and dogs/cats will love. A pet's stay will be relaxed and stress free so that the owner can enjoy free time without worries.

Mathew has trained with Cesar Millan at the Dog Psychology Center in Santa Clarita, California, completed an internship at Guide Dogs for the Blind in Boring, Oregon, and has worked in pet boarding centers in Lexington, Kentucky as well as Spokane, Washington. In addition, Mathew has worked training dogs in the Spokane area for the past three years. He is highly motivated to make sure every animal is balanced, relaxed, and happy!

Tristan has Vet. tech, boarding, daycare, and training experience from Henderson, Nevada and Spokane, Washington. She has management experience in pet resorts as well. She is also highly motivated to ensure that pets at the Center have a calm, relaxing and happy experience!

Together, Mathew & Tristan VanKlaveren live and work at the
